The Department of Councils of State held the Ilal Hijrah Celebration at the Dewan Majlis Building. It aimed to further glorify the 1447 New Hijrah Year.

Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council. A special talk titled “Semangat Hijrah dalam Diri Muslim Sejati" among others highlighted the important characteristics in a true Muslim. The event was enlivened with the reading of Selawat Tafrijiyyah.
